THE CURRENT COMMON FISH DISEASES USUALLY MEAN 100% CARP WIPE-OUT, SO TRY TO IMAGINE HUNSTRETE LAKE, WITHY POOL, BRIDGE POOL OR NEWTON PARK DEVOID OF CARP – BIG AND SMALL ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fishing is one of the most exciting and rewarding of sports; don’t believe it when people (who don’t know) say it’s boring. Anything can be boring if you don’t know what you’re doing and that is why Bathampton A.A. coaches will be on hand to show you every aspect of our great sport. It can be as complicated or straightforward as you want make it and, very often, the simple approach is most effective. If you’ve never experienced the strength of a 10lb carp when you hook it you don’t know what you are missing, and our coaches can show you how. All our coaching sessions take place at Withy Pool on the Hunstrete Complex, between Pensford and Marksbury, We own the fishery and Withy Pool holds a large number of carp, which weigh up to 22lbs, as well as plenty of bream, roach and tench to give sport if the carp aren’t feeding. The fishing takes place from large, flat wooden platforms and we can provide all tackle requirements – rods, reels, line, hooks etc. just mention what you need when making your booking. Special dates have been allocated through the year and each session is of 4 hours: 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm. Cost is only £4 a session and this includes your bait and permit as well as use of tackle, N.B. If you are over 12 years old, you must have an Environment Agency Rod Licence – available at all Post Offices. To book in, just phone Keith Pope on 01225 833839 or 07754 031 429. We have six Fully Qualified coaches and all have been checked and cleared by the Criminal Record Bureau. Additionally, they are very experienced and successful anglers who are only too willing to pass on their knowledge. There is much more to the great sport of angling then hooking and catching fish.
