SOME GOOD OUT OF EVIL Wed 7-Jul-2010 |
Following the distress and upset caused by the evil theft of tackle - used by disabled anglers and deprived children – from Hunstrete, there has been a heart-warming response with many offers of help.
The donations from anglers, matchmen and pleasure anglers, club members and non-members, have been FANTATSIC, but not a huge surprise as we are well aware that the vast majority of fishermen care about such things.
Perhaps more surprising though, has been the response from non-anglers with offers to help after they read about the theft in the press.
All this help will go a long way towards getting the coaching lessons back in full swing sooner than could have been hoped for, so to all those generous folk out there we say -
“A HUMBLE AND SINCERE THANK YOU. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WE HOPE YOU GET TREMENDOUS PRIDE OUT OF HELPING MANY LESS FORTUNATE INDIVIDUALS”.
If any more good people would like to donate tackle they can phone Dave Crookes (General Secretary) on 01225 427164 or Keith Pope (Junior Organiser) on
07754 031429 to arrange collection.
