WIDEWATER FOR GREAT SPORT Tue 25-May-2010 |
If any members are looking for some very good and varied catches then Widewater is the place.
One of our members fished there recently for the first time this year and he certainly was not disappointed. A warm, sunny day combined with bites every put in , what more can a body want?
At the end of the day, he’d landed numerous bream, roach, rudd, hybrids, crucians and commons - all on the waggler in four feet of water and no more than three rod lengths out.
He used a very “sloppy ground bait “, a 50/50 mix of Sensas Lake and Gros Gordons with hempseed and liquidised sweetcorn. Sweetcorn on a size 16 hook was the bait and although no big fish were landed, bream to 2lbs, roach to 12 ozs and carp to 4lbs made it interesting. Even more so as there was no idea what the next bite would produce.
Widewater is at Lydes Farm (The Players) and is a members only venue. A £3 day permit must also be purchased BEFORE fishing. FANTASTIC VALUE!!
Shops selling these permits are listed on CLUB WATERS/LYDES FARM.
