MAGNIFICENT SPORT AT NEWTON
Wed 7-Jul-2010
SIX UNOFFICIAL RECORDS IN A DAY FROM NEWTON PARK

Bathampton A.A. member JOHN MILLER, from Bristol, had a day to remember at Newton Park when, out of the top ten carp he landed, six were bigger than the current lake record which stands at 24lbs 04ozs.

John’s fish weighed 30lbs, 29lbs 01oz, 28lbs 07ozs, 27lbs 01oz, 27lbs 11ozs, 27lbs 05ozs, 15lbs 08ozs, 15lbs 02ozs, 10lbs and 7lbs 05ozs.

The fish were caught from mid-water on bread flake and pellets and all were in superb condition.

Unfortunately, none of the fish were witnessed, but John, who is a regular at the fishery, is not concerned with records; just “very happy that he had such a wonderful day“!

The word on the grapevine is that the Newton Park carp are in excellent condition and packing on weight since the removal of thousands of silvers from the water.

The warmer weather usually leads to excellent “surface sport” at Newton Park and ALAN GINGEL, Bristol, is always prepared, as indicated by his latest result when he had eleven carp up to 19lbs off the top, all on dog biscuit.
